With more than 8 million antibodies and RNAi reagents on BenchSci, we're always working to ensure that you have the reagents you need, supported by published data, at your fingertips. From talking to many scientists, we also understand that finding the right reagent is just the first step. So we have released new product selection features to integrate BenchSci seamlessly with your existing R&D workflow and tools. Read on to find out how you can leverage these new features!

Product comparison

Once you specify experimental contexts using filters, depending on how commonly the target was studied, you might still have to review several products to shortlist 2-3 candidates. With the product comparison feature, you can now custom select multiple products of interest and compare them by product specifications, like so:

Product Comparison-1

For antibodies, the product specifications included in the comparison are:

  • Supplier
  • Publication and vendor figure count
  • Immunogen
  • Application
  • Reactivity
  • Host
  • Clonality
  • Clone ID
  • Conjugation
  • Specificity

For RNAi reagents, the product specifications included in the comparison are:

  • Supplier
  • Publication and vendor figure count
  • Reactivity
  • Format

Product export

Once you identify a shortlist of candidates through the product comparison feature, you may want to export the shortlist as a .csv file to:

  • Share with your colleagues for their input
  • Import the list into your procurement system
  • Keep track of reagent usages in your Electronic Lab Notebooks

You can easily do so by selecting your products of interest and hit "Export Products", like so:

Product Export

You can export up to 60 products at a time, and the .csv file will include the following information:

  • Product name
  • Supplier name
  • Catalog number
  • Host
  • Clone ID
  • Conjugation
  • Link to supplier product page
  • Link to BenchSci product page

We hope that the product comparison and export features will help you more easily integrate BenchSci with your research workflow. Let us know how we can further improve these features specifically for your workflow in the comment section below!
